JUERG ROFFLER trained with Prof. Ilse Middendorf at her Institute in Berlin and was a close associate until her death. He taught there for many years before he came to the U.S. In 1991 he founded the Middendorf Institute for Breathexperience in San Francisco. In 2001 the Institute moved to Berkeley, CA where Juerg currently trains practitioners in the Middendorf form of Breathexperience. He also maintains a private practice in Berkeley, and teaches workshops all over the world. Juerg is the director of the U.S. Middendorf Training Program and has also developed the Programs Breathexperience in Relationship, breathmoves/atembewegt , Breathexperience in Performing Arts and the Breathexperience Integration Program. He also directs professional training programs in Europe and Canada.
MARGOT BIESTMAN is a certified practitioner of Middendorf Breathwork, member of the teaching staff of the Middendorf Institute for Breathexperience with a private practice in Sausalito and Sonoma. She teaches workshops and classes in Hana, Maui three times a year. She is also an author and artist. She has more than 50 years of experience in education with people from ages 3-93. Margot is a member of the teaching staff of the Middendorf Institute for Breathexperience.
FAITH HORNBACHER is a certified practitioner of Middendorf Breathwork, member of the teaching staff of the Middendorf Institute for Breathexperience, and has a private practice in Palo Alto. She is also a certified practitioner of Aston-Patterning, and has been in practice for 25 years. She is an artist and has illustrated books in the field of health education.
MARTY BARCLAY is a certified practitioner of Middendorf Breathwork with a private practice in Berkeley. She is also a landscape gardener with experience in design, installation and maintenance. Marty is a member of the teaching staff of the Middendorf Institute for Breathexperience.
NELL SMYTH is a certified practitioner of Middendorf Breath work and a member of the teaching staff of the Middendorf Institute in Berkeley. She works both in Europe and the States and has particular expertise in working with children and teachers in a variety of settings. Her book The Breathing Circle was published by Hawthorn Press in 2006. She is currently living in Ireland and writing her next book on breath and theater arts as integrative in school curricula.
GRETCHEN VANDERSLICE is a certified practitioner of Middendorf Breathwork with a private practice in Berkeley. She also teaches movement and expressive arts. Gretchen performed as a member of three San Francisco dance companies and taught and perfomred with musician Jim Valley throughout the west coast and Europe. She has trained professionally in several movement and body/mind modalities and expressive arts therapy. She has also worked as a mentoal health counselor and movement/expressive arts teacher with the elderly.
